Pif firing

My smoked ceramic is bisque fired at 960°C/1700F in el. kiln. I burnish the surface before the bisque firing in green stage, with steel spoon, quartzite stone and plastic. I smoke it in a barrel with wood shavings. After the smoke firing I polish it with paste wax. Smoked ceramic is not suitable for food; the vases can mostly be used for dry flowers only.
